Advent 2016: Fourth Week of Advent
Fourth Candle - purple
The fourth candle is traditionally called the “Angel’s Candle” which represents peace and love.
It reminds us of the love that brought Christ to earth. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16-17
And it reminds us of the peace that comes through Christ. “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1-2
